SSS Invites Its Freshmen to Special Event

    New Spartans Invited to Special Event
    SSS to Host Freshmen in Transition (F.I.T.) Day

    SMITHFIELD-- Smithfield-Selma High School is inviting members of the
    SSS Class of 2009 to get a head start on their first year of high school
    at the school's first F.I.T.--Freshmen in Transition-- Day on Thursday,
    August 4 from 8 a.m. to
    3 p.m.

    Teachers will be on hand to meet their students and give the "scoop" on
    high school, and there will be food, fun, and refreshments, according to
    Patrick "Jake" Jacobs, the school's newly appointed principal.

    The days' agenda will include a welcome and breakfast social, skits and
    presentations, team-building activities, and lunch and entertainment.
    During the closing ceremony, students will pick up schedules and I.D.
    badges.

    Transportation will not be provided for this event.

    Additional opportunities for freshmen who cannot attend F.I.T., as well
    as the remaining grade levels, to get schedules and I.D. badges will be
    offered in August. Dates and times are as follows:

    AUGUST 1, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., for SENIORS
    AUGUST 2, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., for JUNIORS
    AUGUST 3, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for SOPHOMORES
    AUGUST 4: F.I.T.

    August 9-12 is the week that has been set aside for drop/add and any
    schedule changes. Counselors will be available the week of August 9-12
    between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to assist students with
    drop/add and schedule changes.

    Grade levels will be assisted on the following days noted:
    SENIORS, August 9
    JUNIORS, August 10
    SOPHOMORES, August 11
    FRESHMEN, August 12
