Stay tuned for details! ---------------------------------------------------- CLAYTON, N.C – Reserved seating for the Friday, September 30, Robert Cray Band concert has SOLD OUT, and a limited number of Standing Room Only tickets are available for the 8 p.m. performance. It would be hard to overstate Robert Cray’s impact on rock, rhythm and blues. Considered one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, Cray has been inviting audiences along on his epic musical journey—breaking through the pop ceiling with his blues-edged trademark sound and distinctive playing style- since his 1980 debut Who’s Been Talking. Never content with interpreting his music the same way twice, Cray's daring innovations have placed him at the pinnacle of the blues recording industry. His 2009 album, This Time, brought him his 14th Grammy nomination and much critical acclaim from music critics worldwide. His latest release, Cookin’ In Mobile (Vanguard), is a live CD and his first-ever live DVD release. He has his own line of Fender Signature guitars and has performed alongside blues titans Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Muddy Waters, Eric Clapton and B.B. King. Cray has toured extensively with both Collins and Clapton while also having worked with legends Tina Turner, Keith Richards, Chuck Berry, Bonnie Raitt, friend and fellow guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughn and Willie Dixon, to name a few. In May 2011, Cray became the youngest inductee into the Blues Hall of Fame. Local blues favourites Mel Melton and the Wicked Mojos will open for Cray. Standing Room Only tickets for The Robert Cray Band are $15. These spots are truly standing room only; no seats will be available for patrons who purchase tickets for this section. Second St. in downtown Clayton from 10 a.m. until noon and from 1 until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
