We went last week and this was a nice family outing. Besides the planetarium there is an indoor exploration area elementary age children will enjoy, a building with live animals to view and a large outdoor playground. Entrance to the museum areas are FREE. The planetarium show costs $2 per person. The drive is about one hour, 30 min. from the 4042 area. They will set up a special show time for groups of ten or more.

    Info. from planetarium show flyer:
WHAT: a look at the mystery of the star of Bethlehem seen at Jesus' Birth

WHEN: Sundays in December at 2:00 and 4:00

    CONTACT: 252-939-3302 or jparamore@lenoir.k12.nc.us

Groups of ten or more must call and schedule in advance.

Hey, that sounds like a good deal and something different. I had read just a few months ago of the planetarium in Kinston and never realized they even had one. I know Rocky Mount has had one for about two years. I usually go down there every week, but may try to add a Sunday trip in there for the show.

    Thanks.
