Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police arrested a North Carolina State University student last week who was accused of creating a "monster" out of construction barrels and placing it on the side of the road.
Authorities charged Joseph Carnevale with larceny for taking materials from a construction site at a roundabout project to create the monster.

Me too!! I love it. This kid did an unbelievable job. I think they should contract him to make a few more of those. Folks tend to get grumpy when they are slowed down due to road work. Something like this would probably keep folks in a more lighthearted mood and reduce stress & road rage. I think they should give that kid a job rather than a ticket.

The Barrel Monster has returned to Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, this time holding hands with Mrs. Barrel Monster.
Ed Funkhouser, a professor of Communication at North Carolina State University, captured the lovely couple overlooking the street scene and the campus from the rooftop at 2526 Hillsborough St. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009.
