AP Central Board Names AP Scholars Students recognized for outstanding advanced placement results SMITHFIELD--The following high schools are pleased to report the names of students recognized by the AP Central Board for last year's achievements. There are three categories for recognition: 1. AP Scholar: granted to students who receive grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams 2. AP Scholar with Honor: granted to students who receive an average of at least 3.25 on all AP exams with grades of 3 or higher on four or more exams 3. AP Scholar with Distinction: granted to students who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams with grades of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
