Ok, it is that time of year, the exotic animal show must have been in town or something. I have taken in NINE gliders this weekend already. Has anyone had a secret desire to own a marsupial?
Sorry, I just looked at the picture. I think those are what they were calling pocket pets at the Christmas Carousel in Raleigh. Like $300 worth of an animal. Did you get the cages and everything that goes with them.
Very cute little guys. http://images.google.com/images?sou..._enUS259US260&q=sugar glider&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi I have had some as pets for years, and love them. They came with cages, but the cages would be ok for 2 not 6. If they dont get out of their cage too often, they need as big of a cage as possible. I do a lot of animal rescue work and you would be surprised what I end up with sometimes!
Ultimately I would love for someone to adopt. If not, fostering would be ok too. I dont have time to socialize all of them and that isnt fair to them.
I had them when I lived up in MI. They are really cool, and they take work. Have a special diet and I cooked a lot and froze their food for later use. It's fun to watch them fly across the room or land on you or crawl in your pocket. Mine were very tame. They aren't not for everyone (hence the reason you may have 6 of them). Being they are so darn cute they are hard not to want them. I wish I could help since I do have several years experience with them. Two is better then one when you get them cause they will play with each other if you have a night or so when you may not have the time to play with them. Oh and they do smell. lol Sheri
sugar gliders Hello, i was just forward this topic by another member. Do you stil have any suggies that are in need of a new home? i know the care of them , what they eat, how they need extra protien and calcium, i have spent months researching them, and have visited friends that have some as to spend time with suggies to know that i want and am capable of giving them care. do you have males , females? do you know the ages? are you looking for an adoption fee? if so how much? thank you
Hi yes, I got all three of your PM's and replied to those as well. I would suggest you try Carolina Pet Rescue (www.cpr-nc.org) They will have several available soon (as soon as the males are neutered). They will then be adopted out in pairs.
These have all been placed. But the rescue group I mentioned above has 7 or so they are going to be adopting out soon. I always get them in... year round. I saw some on craigslist yesterday... let me know if you have any questions. I have owned them as pets for several years.
