Just wanted to let everyone know that Regal Cinemas has their free movies up on their website! Sorry I don't have a link, but I just googled free summer movies and found it easy as pie (Kellbell, you should be happy!) Anyway, it starts the week of 6/16, they show them every Tue/Wed/Thurs at White Oak at 10 AM. Also looking for other fun things for kids aged 3, 6, 9 to do if anyone has any great suggestions to make the summer go faster! Will be doing VBS one week but that's it so far. 3 yo is not potty trained which makes it very difficult, most places that will take kids that age require that. :banghead:
Well there you go... potty boot camp for 3 yr old will kill some of that time, although it doesn't fit the fun category... :jester::jester:
Here are the links for White Oak and Smithfield http://www.regmovies.com/nowshowing/familyfilmfestivalschedule.aspx?state=NC http://www.dtmovies.com/SVMS/2009/smithfield.htm
No one has any good ideas huh? Looks like free movies and lake benson (again) for us...Sure do get bored with the same old stuff all the time. Wish I could take them bowling, but my 3 yo is an animal, God knows what he'd do with the bowling ball. He's a tough one to take anywhere. He needs to go places where he can just run! And Seebea...you have no idea how much I'd like to put him in potty boot camp!
No, you don't understand what kind of trouble he can get into!!! I'm more worried about my feet, his feet, or his brothers' feet with the ball...or where he'll run off to while his brothers are bowling...but they do have a nice little arcade in there I always forget about, maybe we could do that one day. I wish there was a nice putt-putt place nearby, they're all so far away.
I got nothing. DS and I will be spending a lot of time at the pool and library. He's got a cub scout resident camp one week, we have some camping planned, but as for day to day.............we are going to wing it.
I'm sure... you can run the boot camp yourself... get a whistle and fatigues and get him going. LOL... Good luck, it may happen overnite one day.
He's my 3rd son in 9 years, you'd think I'd know what to do, but he is a stubborn little brat!!! It's a total control issue with him, I know it is...he's obviously old enough to know he's gotta go, but he knows I want him to, so he won't. little ****.
I have a little **** too. He decided he wanted to use the toilet one week before kindergarten started! Still in diapers! ...Skipped the 'potty' entirely.
*Bump* Could we sticky this and add other children's activities that are free or near free? Maybe bring back the 4042 Summer playgroup?
http://noahsark-ministries.com/index.htm I would like to go here one day this summer. If we can get some folks together, we can get a group rate.
My group would probably enjoy that Let me know when you plane to go. So far we don't have tons planned. My son is taking pottery wheel classes on Monday evenings until July 13 (except one Monday). The kids will be in swim classes next week. My son is finally finishing his scuba classroom work this Thursday & sometime during the week of the 22nd he will finish his scuba pool work. We will definately have to plan a trip to celebrate his scuba certification. We signed my son up for a free golf clinic on Garner Rd in Clayton during the week of Augusta 12-14. We plan on using the Raleigh pool punch cards to visit the various pools & waterparks this summer - hopefully that will be more fun/variety than paying for a membership at a single pool (and less expensive). We also plan to do a little bowling & make visits to the movies - I'd love to know what days everyone else is going so maybe we can run into other familiar kids while we are there. I can't wait to take baby girl to the beach now that she's walking. I'm sure we will be making a few day visits to the coast. I've been looking at the various classes offered in Cary, Garner, Raleigh & Clayton and some of those look like fun. I'm really hoping it will be a fun, busy summer.
AWW. Im sorry you are having such A hard time, it is summer though i remember when my mom WAY BACK IN THE DAY!!!!!! used towatch these boys that where like that and she would put them in the back yard let them play without diapers on lust their underware and if they wet or soiled themselves she would make them clean it up. they quickly learned trhat they didnt like todo that and WHAALAA problem solved. i know it was a long time ago but maybe just maybe old tricks die hard. good luck with him i have a very dear friend going through the same thing but she is to stubborne to try MOMMAS ideas. she s afraid a mosquito will bite his tushie lol lol.
Hey Melynda, I don't have a group so whenever/ifever your group decides to go maybe I could tag along? I am wanting to hit the coast myself. Maybe we could carpool?
you will love that place, they have parrots too:lol: Or you could just come by with them and visit Kaci's zoo like the kids in my neighborhood do:jester:
