grew up eating pistachio nuts with my dad. We would sit for hours watching old cowboy movies with the dyed red pistachios. Finger tips all dyed red and stuff. Such fond memories. Dad is now 84 and in a nursing home with alzheimer's.
As a teen and later on as an adult of course we had our share of differences but long story short he is stilll my dad and seeing him or even speaking to him, and he doesn't recognize my voice, still can break my heart.
one of my fondest memories. Also my dad was in the meat business and one of his clients at thanksgiving time would give him a case of the chocolate covered cherries with the amaretto liqueur inside.
Just making me think about my dad. I need to go see him. He's doing good but just not the man he used to be.
I love all nuts. :mrgreen: present company included. almonds are my current favorite in any flavor. I voted for pistachios on the survey, been loving them since I was a kid and they were red in color.
