Super Bowl parade

Last night was AWESOME. It will be a night we will remember for the rest of our lives. It's almost unexplainable but I'll try.

800,000 of us attended the Saints victory parade, yes 800,000.

I work and own a building in teh CBD one block off of St Charles and behind Gallier Hall right in the middle of the parade route. Businesses and schools closed early yesterday so that people could attend the parade. which started at 5 o'clock. My wife, daughter and son-in-law left the house at 2:30, so many vehicles were on the roads trying to get to the parade that it took my wife two hours to travel what normally would have taken 15 minutes to get to. The streets were packed traffic jams everywhere, but it didn't deter people froom getting to their destination. Some said it was like a "hurricane evacution in reverse"

I've seen Mardi Gras Parades and crowds my whole life and I have NEVER seen more people on teh streets EVER. Where we were standing it was 50 rows deep with fans and I understand it was that way the entire route.

Everyone was in Saints attire and many dressed in Saints character costumes. Each float carrying the players was a special theme float from our mega Mardi Gras Krews, Rex, Bacchus, Endymion, Muse, Allah.
One float carried the offensive line and Drew Brees, another the wide receivers, another the defensive back, and D-line, and one for the kicker and punter, all teh players had floats.
The players were so excited and happy, the were going feakin nuts, Band were playing Saints songs, the fans and players were so jacked up especially when they played "Stand Up and Get Crunk".
Drew Brees was right in front of us as his float stopped for a few minutes. he was throwing beads , and autographed footballs, he spotted a little girl in teh crowd and wanted her to have the football, he tossed it and the crowd made sure that the little girl got the ball. Brees was having a blast. Some of the players got off the floats and mingled with us in the crowd dancing in teh streets.. Coach Payton held the Lombardi trophy and even he got down from the float from time to time to let people touch it.
The players had the time of there lives and were in awe of how appreciative the fans in the crowd were of them.
It was amazing!
it's unexplainable just how much the Saints mean to the people of New Orleans, the players realize that this is something unique and special.

The New Orleans Saints are the single most important factor in the rebuilding of New Orleans, they gave us a release from the hell we were going through and the hope that we could rebuild.
With this Super Bowl victory, the entire community of New Orleans now realizes that we are healed, united and ready to look to the future.

The New Orleans Saints and our City or both Champions.

There is no place like New Orleans, more fun here than anywhere in teh world.

New Orleans was knocked to it's knees by Katrina, the Saints were on the verge of relocating to another city. But then came Sean Payton and Drew Brees, they gave us hope. Look at us now.
