My husband went to CVS tonight and the girl at the counter told him that they are building a Target across from Lowe's Food at Hwy 50 and 42. When I went grocery shopping tonight I noticed that it does look like a pretty good spot for commercial real estate. Anyone else heard this? It's getting to where I don't think I'll ever need to leave 40/42 again.
This has been a rumor for a while, but as far as I know, it's just a rumor. If anyone hears for sure though, please post it on the "New Businesses" thread for us nosy folks!
Just a thought. Why not have webbie create a forum just for 'new business'. We have one for cats and dogs, one for money, and Johnston county schools. We all seam to post when we hear about new business' coming to our area. Again this is just a thought.

There was an article in the paper a while back that the development around the new hosptial (42/Amelia Church) may include a Target. I'm not sure if that was an example of the type of stores that might be there or if there are talks with Target.
If anyone is looking at this property for a Target, they have not contacted anyone with the county. The Planning Department and the Economic Development director have no knowledge of any plans. The only site that they are looking at is off I-95 in Selma, but that is very premature.
