Hello my fellow 4042ers Anyone else get or have had Mrs. De Smet for a 5th grade teacher? Any opinions? Good? Bad? Mixed? I would really like to know, my son got her for 5th grade this year. Here's hoping for a good year this year!

I was VERY suprised that I got mine when I did, usually I get it the day before the open house, and I am running around Walmart like a madwoman! I got just about everything that I could think of when I was at Wally World the other week. I got the list and there was like one or two things that he needed that I did not have. I looked on their website and just pulled lists from all the 5th grade teachers. They were all the same.
My son has her this year too! PM me and we can talk about it that way. I have heard good and bad. I will fill you in. I am okay with it. My son knows her and wanted her to be his teacher.

Ms. Creech My son had Ms. Creech last year and really liked her. I have talked with her on several occassions and like her as well. We have a little added benefit in that since my husband teaches there, we can select the teachers for our children and Ms. Creech is the one that he selected for my son last year. We have Ms Creech this year too. One of our neighbors had her last year and liked her. I'm hoping it's good for us too.

I received a letter also switching my child's assignment. I wonder how many got changed? The letter stated they were balancing the classrooms.
We finally got ours. My son got Miss Jones for the first grade. Anyone have her before? I emailed her to ask a question and she seemed very nice. I hope he doesn't get switched.
We just registered our daughter at Dixon and she was assigned to Ms. Harvison for second grade. I hope she is a good teacher, I have not seen her name mentioned on the forum when I searched.
1st and 3rd students My boys have Ms. Jones for 1st grade and Ms. Coleman for 3rd grade this year. I am hoping for a really great year. Again, my husband gets to pick the teacher for my boys so I am very thankful for that. For the parent who had Ms. Jones last year - do you know if she is good at challenging a VERY strong reader? I do not want my son to get bored in class and cause problems because of it. Thanks for your input. Anyone have Ms. Coleman before? Karen
