    Hi!

I live in Ohio. Three weeks ago my husband started a job with Progress Energy in downtown Raleigh. He moved down to NC and is living with friends - sleeping on the futon. I'm waiting to move until my girls (9 and 11) have finished the school year on June 9. Now this would have worked out, except that my sister, who also is here in Ohio, accepted a job in Smithfield and will begin on May 5. And her husband is going down with her - he's looking for a job as a science teacher. The jist of all this is that the 3 of them need a place to live until we move down in June.

Does anyone know of any temporary housing in Johnston County for about 6-7 weeks? If my life gets anymore stressful, I'm gonna scream!

    Thanks so much!

I don't know of any temporary housing, but there is a new Comfort Suites that just opened on Hwy 70 in Clayton (across the street from Bojangles, behind Biscuitville). I did a quick analysis of 3 people staying there for 6 weeks - came to ~$37/day/person - for a 1 BR suite w/king bed, LR with a queen sofa bed.

And welcome to North Carolina! :)

We lived at the apartment for 1 year about 5 years ago when we moved from illinois. it was good for temp housing. nice location. Close to hwy 70 and close to shops. Nice park , with lots of things for kids.

When my daughter first moved here...

they rented for 1 year at Parkside and hated it. She said that the walls were so thin that they could hear the people going to the bathroom next door. People complained about the noises of vacuum cleaners, and so on. Best Wishes and Good Luck to you all sweetie!

    Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I'll be glad when my family is all in the same place!

My husband almost moved to the area for a job 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately, couldn't get a car for him that quickly, so the job was turned down.

This place is in Garner and I believe it's called In-Town Suites. I think it ran for like $199/week and it had a full kitchenette in the room. It was going to be his option until I could move up. Just as an FYI, they don't allow pets.

Good luck with your impending move. I wish I were in your position because that would mean I'd have sold my house!

    Moving!

We're lucky because we're renting. Now we've got to find a house to buy. I told my husband I don't want to move until my younger daughter graduates from high school in 9 years, if then! Good luck selling your house.
