I just wanted to pass along how impressed I was with a 10 y.o. who lives in our community. She had a birthday party, and instead of her guests bringing her presents, she had them all bring a bag of dog food or biscuits. Then she donated the food to the JCAPL to help feed the dogs who are awaiting adoption. With youth like Emily around, I think there's hope for our future. :)

    Thanks, Emily

I was at a birthday party a few weeks ago where the bithday girls asked instead of gifts...to buy animal related stuff so they can give it to SPCA. every year for their birthdays, they pick an organization to donate stuff instead of presents. I think its a great way to teach kids on how to give to the less fortunate.

I may start this with my daughters when they get to be a lil older and understanding the importance of giving.
