    Folks,

From a separate message board from Military.com..

"Thank you for your service to our country. Your sacrifices and dedication to the ideals of our country are honored, especially on Veterans Day. We encourage those not on active duty to wear your medals on 11/11 and 11/12 to show your veteran pride so others will join us in expressing gratitude for all you've done to keep us safe and free."

I salute your service, and consider it an honor to have served with you.

    Hatt6 and Other Veterans,

My family and I, too, salute the service you have and are giving our country. Without the sacrifice given by those so dedicated we would not even be able to make this Post. You are and will forever be in my family's hearts and thoughts.

    With Gratitude,
    Grace and Family

I served in the mid to late 80's in the USMC. Even though I saw no war time, thank God, I will still wear my ribbons and medal. Thanks to all of my brother and sister VETS as well!!!

Golden Corral supports our military. Thanks Golden Corral.
    ===============================
For the past 6 years, Golden Corral has been honoring the US Military with a free “thank you” dinner and beverage at any Golden Corral restaurant on Military Appreciation Monday (first Monday after Veteran’s Day). This year, Golden Corral has designated Monday, November 12, 2007, from 5 to 9 pm, to honor any person who has ever served in the United States Military.

From the first Military Appreciation Monday in 2001 to the present, Golden Corral has donated 1.5 million free “thank you” meals and $1.9 million dollars to the Disabled American Veterans.

Between November 1 and November 12, 2007, the Disabled American Veterans Organization will accept contributions to be used in the local and state DAV chapters.

Thanks for this Post. I am going to search to see if Pensacola has a Golden Coral. My dad could certainly use a pick-me-up and thank you right about now.

    Thanks to Golden Coral.

My dad, (Army) served in the Vietnam war, he was in Korea, Thailand and I don't remember where else. My grandfather (mom's side), was in the Navy, one Uncle was in the Army, a couple of Uncles were in the Air Force, my brother was in the Air Force, my ex was Navy and my husband has a nephew that was in the Marines. I grew up military, been an Army brat and a Navy wife, and as my avatar shows, my son is going Air Force and leaves Jan 29, 2008 for basic. I use to watch how much my mom had to do and take care of to keep our house going while my dad was gone but never realized how much work she had to do until I became a military wife.

On that note, not only do I, in my own way, salute the past, present, and future military personel, I also salute their families. The families have to carry on alone while their loved one is gone and anxiously await for the day they return home, although some never return.

God Bless Them All for all they have done, are doing, and what they will do, and for all the sacrafices they make!!! I have to say that I am VERY PROUD of my military background and look forward to continuing to stand proud as my son enters his future with the military!

If you shop at the Food Lion on 70, I know they have had cards that people can sign expresses holiday wishes to our military overseas. Don't forget to sign the cards when you check out.

I too salute all past present and future military and their families. I had grandfathers as well that served in the Vietnam War. And 1 Uncle that is a retired Major in the Air Force. And another who served in the Army.

It was mentioned that FL on 70 had cards in which can be sign to go to the troops. And FL in our little area of the world does too they are just as you go in the left front door next to the buggys.

Thank You to all of you.

God Bless and Keep you safe as well!!!

    From Southerngal and our family
