We went to the new Flying Biscuit Cafe in Cameron Village this morning. It is a chain out of Atlanta. There was a write up in the News and Blow this week. They advertise breakfast all day. We give it one (1) thums down. Omlet was like a scrambler. Creamy grits were OK but I like old fashion grits. Very limited breakfast menu. Biscuits have sugar sprinkled on top. Doughy in the middle. We will not return. Actually we rate the biscuits a distance 4th behind Bojangles, Hardees, and McDonalds. Breakfast not even close to Big Eds, Brigs or Cracker Barrel. The sevice was good. Pricy too. $23.50 for 2 plus gratuity.

Hmmm, I was just there this morning about the same time as you were. I didn't have the same experience, however. I just had scrambled eggs which I would rate very good compared to some others. I loved the grits, and I actually recommended another patron try them upon leaving. Biscuit was excellent, huge, fluffy (no sugar on top of mine) and it came with apple butter which I thought just made it even more special. I'll be back!

Different strokes for different folks. Glad you enjoyed it. But the biscuits have sugar on top of them. There were 4 of us and all of us could see the sugar crystals shining on top of the biscuits when they arrived at the table. Also check out the recipe from The Flying Biscuit in Atlanta.

"Brush the tops of the biscuits with 1 tablespoon of half and half and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar."

That's all I need to know. I can find plenty of breakfast places with good food for a reasonable price. I'll stick to the Burger Hut on Morgan St.
