Researchers create what may be the perfect scout: a bug controlled remotely through a chip implanted in its optic lobes and flight muscles. http://discovermagazine.com/2009/may/30-the-pentagons-beetle-borgs/
Geeeeeesssseee...... They've taken all the fun out of tying giant june bugs to a string and flying them in a circle!!!
I used to do that as a kid also. We caught lightning bugs, took home hornets nests, etc. All those good country fun things that kids now-adays wont get to experience.
Wow. The capabilities are most amazing and freightening at the same time. Well, I guess for the 2020 Census, they can use beetles to knock on your door and ask you the questions through an implanted microphone.
