the baby in the article was a c-section baby too. DS was nearly 8 and that was plenty. My OB kept saying he was gonna be a big baby........I finally grabbed him by the collar one day and said "What exactly do you mean by big?????" DH's cousin had just had that whopper and they had no clue he was gonna be half grown when he was born and I was freaked out. LOL
I saw the parents and baby on one of the news shows this morning. They said the mom suffered from gestational diabetes, and a side effect of that many times is a big baby. The parents seemed really sweet and were just thankful he is ok. I can't imagine carrying that much weight! That would be more weight than most twins or even triplets!
My aunt holds the record for biggest twins at the hospital where she had her twins. they were over 10 lbs each. One was born naturally and one was born c-section on different days. Same for me....I have twins born two ways on two different days. Mine were born way too early to be big though. They were barely 3 lbs.
speaking of big babies, just got a call that my neice in VA just had a 9lb 14oz baby boy:hurray::hurray:
Have you seen the Guiness World Record on the largest baby? Try 23 pounds, 12 ounces! On top of that...it was in the late 1800s! If the mother didn't die in childbirth, she had to be the toughest woman that ever lived!
