Growing metro area and random violence. Just goes hand-in-hand. How about the elderly lady that was murdered in her home a few years ago just a block from the police station...during broad daylight. This stuff happens and I think the best thing we can learn from it is to not set ourselves up to be victims. In other words, make yourself less of a target and present a lower profile to criminal elements.
Every time I come inside I lock the door behind me. Habit. I've locked myself out several times because of it too. lol but better safe than sorry... I've even locked the kids out a couple of times.. they didn't appreciate it. oops.
Is 500 block of N. Church Street in Austin Acres? If so, I believe they have a Clayton Police Department sub station there.
Everyone needs to lock the doors when working in the yard as well. We never did this until the past year, but never know anymore when working in the back yard someone easly sneak in. As for the Gun permit wife wants me to look into that. I think we are both going to fill out the paper work and get a permit. I never realize how expensive guns are though. We were looking the other day, and most are between 500 and 600 bucks. Someone I know willing to sell me a used one, but I don't know how that works since someone else owns it. I also would like to take a class that shows us gun saftey and learn how to use it proper. Does anyone know any place that offers this?
I willl to give them a call. Though I don't plan to have it outside of my home, so I don't think I would need to take a class for Conceal Carry.
