Received: 3:53pm, 8/16/2007 SMITHFIELD-- The Board Chairmen from the Board of Education and the Board of County Commissioners have had recent discussions. After carefully reviewing the issue of implementing the three-tier bus plan for the Clayton attendance area, the two chairmen have agreed that it would be in the best interest of the children and citizens of the county to purchase buses. This would enable the school district to retain the previous year's schedule and bus plan. It has been agreed in concept that the school district will fund the needed buses, and any shortfall as a result of purchasing buses will be funded to meet the needs of the school district
