To the idiot who left a dog tied up . . .

To the idiot who left the dog tied up at Elizabeth Church this morning or last night: What is the matter with you? What were you thinking? The poor dog was so scared, nobody could get near him. Animal Control was called and the dog has been taken away, I assume to the shelter. What a way to treat "man's best friend."

I`ve always felt that anyone should be treated like they treat their pets! Wonder hom they would like being tied up in a strange place? I have no time for stupid people!!

It was a black lab type dog. Elizabeth Church is located on Cleveland Rd., near the Lee Trace s/d.

It's that time of year where dog abandonment is on the rise. It seems that people abandon their dogs before Christmas because they want to spend the money in other ways, and then after Christmas because that "puppy for Christmas" just wasn't a great idea afterall.

I have a friend with a lab rescue, I'll let them know there is a dog at the pound.

Thanks, we all felt bad about having to call in animal control, but the poor thing was terrified, a trained person was needed to approach him. If it was left there by its owner, hoping it would find a new home, the person is a total idiot. If it was a prank by some hoodlum, I hope the dog and owner will be reunited quickly, and the idiot who tied him up out there gets a real good look at the inside of a jail. And I hope the heat in his cell goes out while he's in there. And they forget to bring him breakfast.

I went by Friday and there was a black truck with writing on the side, I didn't pay too much attention he was on his cell phone so I thought he may be calling someone for directions.
Could have been that person, also could have not.

    Poor dog.

that poor dog :( Just thinking maybe just possibly someone tied the dog up because he was running loose on the road in hopes the owner would spot him and he wouldn't have gotten hit by traffic???? i know not probable but at least that would have been better than if someone just abandoned him.

I'm not sayin it was the best thing to do, but we have no idea the circumstances involved. People have been known to abuse animals in much worse ways or just leave them abandoned where no one can find them. At least this dog has a chance. Think of all the dogs that are shot or left on the side of the road somewhere.

There is zero, zilch, nada excuse for tying a dog with no food, no water and no shelter. Just saying. That takes a low SOB to treat a living creature that way.

My point was it takes a lower SOB to leave him where no one can find him.
