Hi, one of my tooth hurts only when I drink something ice cold or eat something hot. The pain shoot right up to my root nerve. When not eating or drinking, there's no pain. I looked at my tooth and there aren't any decay or hole. Looks like I need a dentist - know any good one?

    Tooth ache

I had the same problem a while ago and could not see anything physically wrong. However there were small cracks in the tooth causing the pain that you could not visibly see until the dentist shines a special light on them. The tooth was cracked all over and hurt just like you are describing. Because I waited so long to go to the dentist and just beared the pain, I had to have a root canal. Not fun! Go to the dentist soon!

No, it didn't happen that way - only when in contact with hot/cold temp. I will call the dentist real soon!

    Thanks! :)

I wouldn't beat around the bush too much. I few years ago I had an abcessed molar. Started out noticable, progressed to uncomfortable and was excruciating by the time I got something done about it. With mine, however, the only thing that would help was ice directly on the tooth. I tell no lie...I went through a bag of ice from one of the ice lockers at the grocery store in two days. I also could not sleep the night before my root canal.

Of course, the dentists charge out the wahzoo for a root canal but since I'm in mine thirties, I didn't want to pull it just yet. However, by that last night I was about ready to do it myself!!

I fully recommend Dr. Folden Lee.

He is the most pain-free that i have ever been to....root canals included!

I agree with Dr. Ricobenne. I'm terrified of the dentist and he was great with me. Sat down to find out why I'm so afraid and walked me through the whole process. I had a root canal among other things and wasn't awake for any of it! He's great and I will not ever go to anyone else other than him!

I was at the dentist yesterday and they were telling me that things like this could be caused by sinus problems. Allergies?

Dr. Emrich with Calamos and Marsh or Dr. Folden Lee....both are GREAT dentists...both will take care of the problem and not hurt you! Calamos and Marsh are closed today (Friday) but they're Raleigh office is open today, and they do emergency appt's.

Any dentist at Calamos and Marsh gets my vote! Have had experience with all their dentist between me and my children and have had nothing but positive experience all the way around. My son had a horrible experience with a dentist in Cary and was terrified to go get a filling after that. Took him in and Dr. Emrich was wonderful! He no longer fears the dentist. Dr. Calamos pulled a tooth for me and I never even knew it was out. Sat there clutching the arms of the chair waiting for it to happen when he showed me the tooth! I was truly amazed! Would recommend this group to anyone looking a professional, courteous, and pain-free dentist! Can't say enough good things about them!
