Where can I dispose of large items that the trash guys wont pickup if I don't have a decal? Like broken TVs, scrap wood, etc etc... and....is there somewhere near 40/42 that takes donations of things other than clothing?
And old computers I have a huge box upstairs full of old computers, keyboards, fax machines, etc. that I'm tired of holding onto, and want to dispose of. Any ideas? I can't just throw these away can I?
Basic Needs Ministries at Peddler's Village on 42 will take donations other than clothes. They don't take furniture. My advice would be to list the stuff as free on Craigslist and get rid of it in a hurry.
I am unsure who picks up your garbage but in the Town of Clayton we call them and pay a fee to have items picked up that cannot be used anymore. I would go that route unless the items could be of use to someone then a donation would be great. Donations; Me Fine Foundation, Habor House, etc. Me Fine is for families and children who are in dire straights when needing medical help. A local family started this and they are just wonderful. They had a son in Duke, I believe, and the mom needed to stay close. They were lucky enough to have the money to do this but she saw families who were not as lucky so they started this foundation. Harbor House is for abused families who need to get away from the abuser. We have helped with this foundation for many years. They always need clothes, furniture, televisions, etc. Grace
Goodwill in Clayton will take just about anything. I second CL and the 4042 classifieds. There are always people on these sites asking to come haul away your junk for free.
