You have to call boost to "sign up" they can help you. The boost number is on their website.

    Boostmobile.com

My son had a boost. A nextel one. You may need a new sims card.

Boost Mobile uses the Nextel system for their service but as far as I know, they cannot be unlocked to be used with Nextel post paid accounts. Best thing to do is to take it to the local Sprint/Nextel store and see if they can help you. I might suggest that you try the one next to Dairy Queen on 42.

if i were to make a guess its probably because blus comes from a sales background of the phones, where as these others come from a hacking background. In sales if the company cant do it its probably impossible (because voiding the warranty, or breaking service agreements is bad), but for the hackers nothing is impossible (because voiding the warranty and breaking service agreements are basically badges of honor). still waiting for them to get some info together on my Samsung u420 nimbus, but that doesn't look like its going anywhere fast as nobody can even figure out how to connect to it completely yet. ;|

I hear ya. I have found that most of the prepaid designated phones cannot be used for post paid no matter what you do. The firmware is hard to crack on those, especially Boost. For example, I had bought a few unlocked Nokia phones that were designated for use with TracPhone. They worked but I had a few problems with them that would not go away and had to end up eating them. Thank God , there were only 8 of them but it still cost me a pretty penny that was hard to swallow.

Oh! You bet! Also, make sure the ESN or IMEI is not in the "negative file" with the carrier that it came from. Get the IMEI or ESN from the seller before you even bid on it. If it is in the negative file, then the IMEI or ESN is locked out so it may not be activated. Most of them that are in such a file with the carrier have been reported lost or stolen. Any time you buy a phone on ebay or from anywhere other than a carrier, make sure you check out all possible options before you buy it. I have had many people come along in my years of selling phones that have brought me a phone that was not usable because it had been reported lost or stolen.

Finnally!! 35 dollars later I got my phone to work. There is one nextel store in the area that can unlock Boost phones and its over there by the Bayer plant on 70 in Clayton! Thanks for all your help though. :D :D
