I have emailed every rescue/person that I can find nearby and haven't been able to find one single person/group that can even take one: This is extremely urgent: Earlier this week I found out about a family moving from their home and can’t take their animals. 2 dogs – one is part German Shepard/Chow mix (around 4 years) and the other is a 1 year old part lab. Both are good with children and friendly, but have been tied. They also have 5 kittens (4 males – 1 female). We have talked them into waiting until Saturday – TOMORROW – before they take them to the pound. I know that owner surrenders don’t have a chance. I’m asking for help for these animals. I don’t want them to be put down. I will go get them and transport them to wherever if someone can just take EVEN one of them. I am not sure where the theory that owner surrendered animals are automatically put down. I work at an animal shelter and it is not true. (I do NOT work in Johnston county, so maybe it is true there???) Sometimes the shelter is a better alternative than where the animals are--- IE tied outside 24/7. I would rather be humanely euthanized than tied up and ignored... But back to the post (yes, bad mood today) Most rescue groups are full to the gills right now. Do you have any pictures? Your best bet is a private adoption and photo's help. Good luck and thanks for trying to help.
