I prefer Benjamin Moore but Valspar is ok. You might try a tinted primer with it.

it's a blue going over the neutral walls that were painted by the builder, is a primer still needed?

I would think it would be fine, I was just thinking that it might help in the way of scuffs or any discoloration coming through. I didn't use primer in the past and it was ok(I have an older house and lots to cover up!).

I painted the entire inside of my beach house with it. No problems here. I painted the entire upstairs (2 boys rooms, bathroom and landing) of the house here. No problems.

Last time we painted used Valspar, was fine for the bedrooms, low traffic areas, but did not hold up well for living room, kitchen, it could be our walls who knows, will say it did cover very well. We need to paint again soon before we put our house on the market, going to use Benjamin Moore this time.

I have used valspar paint for all the painting I have done..
I always get the semi gloss or satin though...flat paint doesn't stand up to cleaning for beans...

Always covers nicely over my blah beige walls...lol

Internet reviews are always conflicting in my opinion...

yeah i'm contemplating either eggshell or satin for the living room walls - i know most people go with flat but i gotta be able to wipe off grandkid's and DH's handprints

I like satin for my living room...
my kiddos are really bad with fingerprints and smudges of who knows what:lol:

With the satin, I can take my little Magic eraser and it all comes off....except the paint...8)

Valspar is also an NC company, or least they have a large plant in Davidson County somewhere.
