I kid you not! This just happend to my sister Thursday night while she was sleeping. She said she woke up around 3am and she felt something bite her ear. So she got a roommate up to look and see what it was, at first they both thought it was a tick cause you couldn't see to much in the ear..went to the emergency room and they took it out and it was over a inch long and at that point dead. It had done some damage to her ear drum and she was in a lot of pain I believe cause of the bite. So botics and pain meds and they sent her home..how bizare is that..I have never heard of anything so strange. I was so freaked out when she told me..now she is laughing about it...but man thats just gross! :ack:
Needless to say her landlord when he puts down the new carpet next week, he will be spraying for bugs ect..ewwwww

When my ex and I lived in Clearwater, Florida I worked at a wonderful company. One day the receptionist did not show up to work nor did she call in sick. This was unusual so we called her house. One of those long water bugs had crawled inside her ear and she, too, had to go to the emergency room to get that thing taken out. Grossed me out.

I was glad that she was okay and am glad that your sister is as well. Strange things happen all of the time.

Ewwww - glad she'll be okay! I have heard that if you get a bug in your ear to put a drop of oil (I guess any type of cooking oil) and that might kill it or keep it from moving around too much, then go to the ER to have it removed.

When I am home I always wear PPE because my significant other would keep me awake (even the parrot can imitate it). However something can always fly in my mouth or up the nose, but that is just another protein source.

Would never have thought of a bobby pin. Makes my skin crawl when reading that you heard it crunch. Ew.

Yes, the Fox Fire books do state the urine in the ear will clear up an ear infection.
