I am wondering if anyone knows of any vets in the area that take CareCredit and dont charge a crazy amount to have a cat spayed. I called several in the area and they charge $250-$500, which I think is a crazy amount. I know of several of the low cost ones that charge less than $100, but havent found one yet that takes the CareCredit. I have 2 cats that need to be fixed and I am just looking for something reasonable. Thanks.

Clayton Animal Hospital does take it. I would also look into the mobile spay clinic that comes to Hudson's Hardware once a month or SNAP-NC http://www.snap-nc.org/ they are a low cost alternative and they did it for one of my cats.

Here's the info on the SPCA Wake Spay/Neuter Clinic - article and phone number (prices too)

At the SPCA of Wake County, we believe euthanasia is not the answer to pet population control. Prevention is. We think you believe too.

About the new clinic: The SPCA is in the final stages of constructing and equipping a medical grade building -- The Susan & Randall Ward Center -- to host a spay/neuter vet practice. This program of the SPCA is dedicated to ending pet overpopulation by providing veterinarians the means to provide high-volume, high-quality, low-cost sterilization services of companion animals so that euthanasia is no longer an acceptable means of population control. Prevention is the non-lethal solution to pet population control. This Spay / Neuter Initiative is a program of the SPCA of Wake County to end the euthanasia of adoptable companion animals in Wake and surrounding counties.

What it will cost to "fix" a pet:
$30 male cat, $35 female cat, $40 male dog, $45 female dog
additional canine and feline vaccines available from $5.00-$8.00

Who will this clinic be available to? Everyone.
Public appointments begin scheduling: October 2008 (think there was a delay and they were a few months late in opening, but heard they are taking appts now)
    Call 919-772-0211

Here is info on two of the mobile spay/neuter providers in our area (both of these have excellent vets, like SPCA has. Very caring and competent.

Oh, as for Care Credit, I believe most vets take it - but not the clinic type places I mentioned above.
