Vintage Aerial . Com is a great site for viewing and identifying aerial photos from back-in-the-day. Here's the link to the Johnston County photos that are available: https://vintageaerial.com/photos/north-carolina/johnston/rolls?unmapped=true I recommend creating an account (it's free) so if you comment on a photo or Geo-tag (highly recommend both) then you will get points and can redeem them down the road if you ever want to buy a print/product from Vintage Aerial. Their products are kind of pricey, so points help. I used my points to get a free 20 x 30 canvas print for a friend's home place. (I commented on and geo-tagged A LOT of photos from my area.) Based on the small number of views I see I don't think many JoCo folks are aware of these photos. So, take a look around and see if you recognize some of the houses, farms, stores, churches, etc. It's a fun, little hobby and can become addictive!
