The Republicans want to ban abortions – at least those pregnancies that do not endanger the life of the mother. But who are these Republicans to say what we can do with our bodies? No one should be able to tell you what to do with your body. If you want to be fat then you should have the right to be fat. If you want to have a tattoo then you should have the right to have a tattoo. If you want to abort a baby then why can’t you abort the baby? Just as you have the right to have unprotected sex, just as you have the right to cross and uncross your legs, then you should have the right to use abortions as a birth control means if that’s what you want to do. You aren’t hurting anyone and it’s your body! It is a known fact that just because an embryo is formed does not mean that it is going to be a live baby. Chicken eggs don’t hatch if they aren’t incubated!! If you don’t want to be a mother yet want to have a little “fun” then sometimes these things happen. What are you to do? Abortion is the clear and simple answer. I agree that the abortion should occur as soon as possible but if you can’t quite make up your mind, then you may have to get one of those “partial-birth” abortions. It doesn’t sound pleasant and it is kind of controversial as to whether it is murder because the “baby” is pulled from the womb by its feet and then stabbed through the back of the skull, but a lot of doctors say that it is painless, especially for the would-be mother. So, on Tuesday, protect abortions – protect your rights to use your body as you want and to use abortion as a means of birth control. Vote for your Democratic candidates !!

You come on here purporting to represent the Democratic point of view, and state what you may or may not believe the Democratic Party stands for, in the most extreme terms. This appears to me to be the internet equivalent of push polling. You have chosen several divisive issues and stated the most extreme leftist view of each that could be imagined. You have overstated the positions of the mainstream Democratic party, intentionally in my opinion, to create a backlash. If you wish to debate issues, you will find persons willing to enter into honest debate with you, including persons holding almost any opinion on almost any topic. Yes, there are a few -- very few -- who will engage in name calling, but what you are doing is worse -- far worse. I do not doubt you could find a Democrat to agree with almost any of your statements, just as I could find a Republican who thinks we should go back to segregated schools, keep women barefoot and pregnant, do away with public assistance altogether, and invade any country we want with or without an excuse. C'mon, Grandma...we're on the same side. We both are going to vote Democratic so that abortions can continue, even those last trimester "suck the brains out" abortions. After all, it's a fine alternative to personal responsibility which our party disdains. It's how we maintain our control over the minorities, the weak, and the irresponsible - our voting base you might say.
