Do you know what your rights are on election day? See the North Carolina Voter Bill of Rights: http://www.ncdp.org/voterbillofrights?PHPSESSID=929571a1f5a8c34b34df7ad59b45579f

Among the 18 items on the list are these:
--If you are in line when the polls close at 7:30, you have the right to vote.
--You do not have to show your voter registration card. You may be required to show photo ID, though, so be sure you have your driver's license or similar identification; but if you have misplaced your voter registration card, you can certainly still vote.
--If you have moved within 30 days before the election, you can vote in your old precinct.
--If you mistakenly go to the wrong precinct, the poll workers have to tell you how to get to the right one, and if you do not have time to get there, you can vote a provisional ballot.
--If you are unable to get inside the polling place due to a disability, you may vote in the immediate premises, including in the vehicle that brought you.

If you're dead, do you have to present a death certificate?

The Jo Co BOE seems to be very efficient at removing deceased voters from the rolls. So the old adage, vote early and often, doesn't work very well here.

pretty sure if voter rights weren't directly violated -- certainly ethics and patriotism have been -- no matter what vote you cast you have the right NOT to be manipulated in such a way --- granted one would hope that each citizen goes in and casts an informed and educated vote however that does not excuse the behavior at this polling place....

You can vote a provisional ballot for MANY REASONS... but keep in mind this takes time... it is NOT a two seconds & you are out of there thing.

In JoCo NO ONE is tuned down to vote -NOW-. This has changed from how some things were done in the past. You may be asked to go to your correct polling place but anyone can vote a provisional ballot.

The Board of Elections (not the paid staff or volunteers) reviews & counts these by hand.
