CLAYTON-- Chris Kiser, a West Clayton Elementary School Music teacher
who served in the Gulf War, will videotape a class of students singing
the National Anthem in front of the American flag and then on National
Anthem Day, September 14, broadcast the video over the school's
television broadcast system so that the entire school can sing it
    together.

The activity coincides with The National Anthem Project, the campaign
to get America singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" while spotlighting
the important role music education plays in giving Americans our
    patriotic voice.

A recent Harris poll shows that two out of three American adults
don't know all of the words to "The Star-Spangled Banner" and
many more don't know which song is our anthem or why it was written.
Many of those who do say they know the words say they learned patriotic
    songs in music class.
