    Due to an unknown virus, the Wake County Shelter has to "hold" all adoptions until the shelter can be cleaned by an outside company. Then any remaining animals that are not being adopted right away will be euthanized to "start fresh". That is over 30 dogs. How sad!

    Everyone run and adopt this weekend. :lol:

    I am feeling so very sad right now.

    But, how can you adopt if they've put a hold on adoptions?

    ljk, they got any young female chihuahuas? LOL

    I just went to look if there were any small dogs for you Jenn and this is what they said;

    * The dog viewing and adoption services are closed until further notice. The Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center will remain open for small animal and cat adoption.

    The SPCA had a chihuahua, but it wasnt house trained and the owners said they didnt think she would ever learn!!!

    You can see all the animals available at http://www.spcawake.org/pet_search.html

    We've learned never to believe the owners 100%. They will say just about anything to justify surrendering their pet. They have no idea (or don't care) that saying their dog bit their child, when actually he just growled after being pulled on for the 1000 time, may seal his fate.

    Although I take what they say seriously, I like to give the animal a chance to prove themselves... (time allowing)
