Anyone have any experience with WakeMed Hospital at Clayton in general? I like to get a sense before transfer from WakeMed at Raleigh to Clayton since the location is closer to me now in case of emergency..
Wake Med Clayton The outpatient rehab there is WONDERFUL, and DH went there for X-Rays, and experience was positive....
not unless it just opened... They are just screening mammorgams, xrays and ultrasounds.... Then they have their spcaes rented to several doctor offices such as Wake Heart and so on.
The reason I asked about the emergency room is this poster talks about switching in the event of an emergency. To my knowledge WakeMed Clayton facility provides no emergency services.
I wouldn't be surprised to see WakeMed add on limited emergency room services, but Clayton is about half way between WakeMed and Johnston Memorial depending on your location. I think we'll see some WakeMed expansion into eastern NC, but probably not that much in Clayton because they are already fairly close. Although, I could see emergency room service expansion being a big plus for the area, especially since Johnston Memorial is expanding into Clayton out on 42. Honestly, I expect to read in the near future of WakeMed buying into a eastern North Carolina hospital for the purpose of having a connector of their air ambulance service and ICU trucks.
WakeMed and Duke are both putting satellite facilities in Knightdale on Hwy 64, right near the 540 overpass. I'm not sure what their facilities will include yet, but that little area of Knightdale is growing up quick!
I guess most of us on here already know this, but for those that don't, Rex is a private entity of UNC Hospitals. So, you have UNC, Duke, Pitt and now WakeMed all serving the state with trauma care service.
