Wal-Mart, Pepsi Team Up to Collect School Supplies for Johnston County
    Students

SMITHFIELD-- With the first day of school less just two weeks away,
Wal-Mart and Pepsi have teamed up to host a School Supply Drive to
encourage community residents to donate school supplies to Johnston
County Schools students who may need them. From 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on
Monday, August 14, representatives from Johnston County Schools,
Wal-Mart, and Pepsi will be at the Smithfield Wal-Mart on Brightleaf
Boulevard to accept donations from residents and shoppers. Radio station
G-105 will host a live remote during that time.

Johnston County Schools will accept the donations on behalf of its
students and ensure that the supplies are distributed.

"On behalf of our students and the Johnston County Schools family, we
are thankful to the Smithfield Wal-Mart and Pepsi for this generous
effort. We appreciate this tremendous show of support for public
education from our corporate neighbors," said Dr. Anthony Parker,
    Superintendent.
