I just decided what I want to do with my life. I want to work with animals in some way, shape, or form. Since I have 2 kids (5&7) going to school to be a vet is pretty much out of the question :)

But, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where I could go to work (for some $ if possible). I don't know where any animals shelters are.

    Thx

In order to answer your ? would really need to know what experience you have with animals and what type of animals you are comfortable being around.

If you have allergies to any types of animals, you would need to consider that in a large way in determining what might best suit you.

The hours and days you are available also would impact your choices.

In many cases, the best way to get a job that pays money when working with animals comes from volunteer work with them either in shelters, with non-profit organizations, or possibly some OJT on a farm if working with livestock is what your interest is . it opens ideas on where you might be the most happy and gives you experience at the same time.

The SPCA is always hiring... but the pay isnt that great...$9.50 ish?

They always need people to clean (not fun, but great hands on) or adoption counseling (not too hands on, lots of people skills needed)

I can ALWAYS use foster people, but no pay in that. (sorry)

Welcome aboard, I hope you find your niche.

There are lots of animal related jobs ... grooming (if you dont have allergies!), pet sitting, vet tech, obedience training ... there are a lot of different areas to explore. Start thinking about what you like about animals, what you want to do with them ... and if you're sure want to make a career out of your hobby. NOT a lot of it pays big $ $ . ;)
Volunteer work may be the best route, it can be very fulfilling. Especially right at the start, to gain experience.

Once you've narrowed down what your interests are, talk to a few people who already do what you want to do. Make contacts, see if you can find a mentor, share your thoughts and ideas and get opinions. :)
