Due to unprecedented high water demand and temporary limitations in the Johnston County water distribution system, the County Manager is issuing a water shortage advisory. While the advisory is in effect, customers are requested to employ voluntary conservation measures to limit water use (especially Class 3 non-essential uses) and to eliminate waste of water.

Class 3 water uses include (but are not limited to) outdoor non-commercial watering and irrigation, private vehicle washing, and fire system testing. A complete list of Class 3, non-essential uses of water are provided on the Johnston County website www.johnstonnc.com.

The water shortage advisory applies to retail customers of Johnston County and to the bulk customers served by the County which includes the Towns of Clayton, Four Oaks, Princeton, and Kenly and the private utilities Aqua NC and Utilities Inc.

If you have other concerns about the advisory, please call Johnston County Public Utilities at 989-5075.

I guess no one bothered telling the contractors building the new High School on Polenta Rd. I had to run out yesterday afternoon just before the rain came through and saw the sprinklers running on the football field (across from Myatt Place).
