So I just got off the phone with AQUA NC water. NOT HAPPY! They charge us $48.41 for a sewer charge. Then $13.79 for a base rate PLUS whatever our water usage is. So basically we are using about $8 worth of water a month, YET we have to pay an extra $62!! There are TWO of us living at the house and if we ever start a family we won't even be able to afford the water!! Is there any way to CHANGE our water provider and to get around this? This is just absolutely ridiculous and if I had known this before we moved into this house it could possibly have been a deal breaker. We are flushing a lot of money down the toilet - literally!!
The only thing I can think of is to see if you can get hooked up to county water, or if you check with the regulations in your neighborhood to see if you can get a well and septic put it, if your property will perk. It will be expensive but well worth it in the long run!
