Because I seem to keep having travel questions.

We know that no one is going to tell me their super secret beach location (lol), but I have another question for ya.

DH, the kids and I, a friend of mine, and her daughter want to take a 3 day weekend soon and just go somewhere fun. We're gonna drive together and split costs, and the only real requirements be that the 11 yr old and 7 yr old have something to keep them busy, and that where ever we wind up is stroller friendly.

Some ideas we've tossed around are:

    Busch Gardens/Carrowinds/Kings Dominion

    Dollywood

    The NC Mountains

We're not really looking for a beach trip because it's still a little chilly for the girls to swim.

I'm willing to drive 6 or so hours to get where we're going.

    Any suggestions?

Jennifer, when my youngest son was 4 we went to the mountains for "A Day Out With Thomas" in Dillsboro. I booked us a cute little cabin here http://www.mountainbrook.com/cgi-bin/main.pl (they have a stocked trout pond where the kids can fish, walking trails, etc.) and had our whole stay planned out (thanks to the wonderful Internet!) before we got there. It was a wonderful trip... we rode horses at Nantahala Village ( http://www.nvnc.com/villagerecreation.php#1 ), panned for gold, went white water rafting here
( http://www.raftwithkids.com/ ), rode through Cherokee, drove around and looked at the waterfalls
( http://www.mountainlovers.com/content_waterwalls.asp ), etc. We had so much fun, and my baby girl was only a year old at the time (Grandma went with us to help out with her while we went rafting, etc.). I would highly recommend a trip to the mountains, there is a lot to do. HTH! :)

    Wow!

That place looks great!! Do they have one similar at Myrtle Beach? An all inclusive waterpark?

Great Wolf looks really fun, but for the weekend we want to go, it's $340 a night. That's a little steep for a hotel room and some water park tickets.

This is just a weekend getaway, we'd do something like that for a family vacation.

Another place we always find fun. Usually stay at a campsite or bed and breakfast.

Have you checked Myrtle Beach. You might could get some good deals (before the rates go up) at one of those all inclusive places with water slides, lazy river etc (indoor).
