Okay, not trying to make waves but really need to know something before I go over there. My friend called me last night. Has a daughter like mine. I was shocked to find out that during registration and such, there are classes that kids like ours are totally blocked out of. They are NOT allowed to take. Some examples...spainish, french, ASL. And this just does not refer to foreign languages btw. Now, my daughter obviously would love to take ASL as her brother is deaf and wants to learn more. She is more than capable to learn this. Fustrated to find out the "list" of what they can't take. I've never heard of such a thing. All we can conclude is that they don't want scores counted against them(them being the school). They do this in earlier grades by making them take the NCextend but that is a separate issue. My husband works for a statistical analysis company so can really have fun in a meeting.

Anyhow, I'm disappointed in this day in age that this may be the case. I'm disheartened to send my child to a school that will not allow her to take certain classes b/c of who she is. I'm trying to find truth to this. I"m guessing true as this is what my friend told me she is experiencing w/ registering her daughter. But I like to see it in front of me. Can anyone verify that this is true. That they block certain kids out from taking classes? These children are delayed but MORE than capable of learning. I can't imagine this being the case but then again.... Please let me know. I'm tryign to verify FACTS before I go up there. I also have a firend that has an advocate and will definitely be asking them as well.

    Thanks.
