I figured so many are going to ask these questions so why not have it on one thread. Guess I'll start. 4th grade son-- Ms. Medlin (know nothing about her) 3rd grade son-- Ms. K. Smith 3rd grade daughter-- Mrs. Montalbono (son & daughter had her & I really like her style & such) 1st grade son-- Ms. Hall (trying to get son retained in K so may not have her) I will say this, I have been pleased every year w/ the teachers at Westview. Hope the trend continues this year. SO happy the supply lists are smaller & make common sense this year. Hope the teachers don't add too much to it. from what I hear though, they're not supposed to. Good luck. Now, decisions, decisions. Stupid schools have orientations on the SAME day, SAME time so I have to choose whether to go to my middle schoolers or elementary schoolers orientations. Neighbors are in the same predicament as well. I want this year to be a changing, fun-filled, academic success of a y ear for my kids! The above teachers will help do that I'm sure. Looking forward to meeting them. One thing I wish the schools would let you do... fill out the forms on line or print them already filled out. Hard to fill out 7 sets of forms AND keep the kids behaved & not exploring the new classrooms. Stephanie--mom to 7
K. Smith Good luck.... we lived through it but she was to me unorganized and unfair on Alot of things and my child is pretty good if it would have been my oldest we would have has issues so my youngest was behind my middle child and we requested NOT to have her! You may have a different experience I think she had personal issues but who knows! I need info on 4th Natskakula 5th J Martin BTW Mrs Moore K Is the best teacher in the world if you got her you we love her!
Why not wait and form your own opinions about the teachers?!?! One person's/child's experience can be vastly different from yours. When someone posts something less than favorable remember you're only getting one side and perhaps skewed observations from someone hiding behind a screen name. Although I'm sure not intended, what others share here can influence your expectations and set your year off on the wrong foot.
B/c some of my kids have certain issues and do NOT fit well w/ certain styles of teachers. Just the way it is. Plus, people do this all the time and so do the teachers. Love that child, or watch out for that one, he's a handful. STuff like that. And yes, I've had some teachers that everyone raved about but formed my own opinion thorughout the year. I think on here, it is more of a curiosity thing for everyone rather than folks forming rash judgements based on a few people. I have no problems w/ the school or the way things run. Now, if by orientation, my son's interpreter is still not in place, it will be a whole other issue and yes, it will be made very public on here. You don't mess w/ the law or the ADA. Sidetracked--sorry. I don't think anyone is intentionally doing any harm on here by asking about the teachers. Shoot, before the internet, people asked each other inthe neighborhood. What's the difference? Well, maybe this time it's that the teacher can see it. Since every child is so different, it is hard for every child to be a "perfect" fit w/ the teacher. I had some great teachers growing up and some not so great. I had the BEST 3rd grade teacher ever & I have not forgotten her yet & the April Fool's joke on us all. She just made learning fun and I do hope that is what will happen this year.
Ms. Medlin is great! Your son will love her. My youngest son had her last year & he had a wonderful year with her. She's very friendly & outgoing, engages all the kids, has a great sense of fairness, and he really learned a lot in her class. The other teachers I do not know. I just have to add that he's had great teachers every year at Cleveland and Westview.
I only got one child's teacher assignment. Does anyone know if they were all sent out or if some will be sent out Monday?
