This is hardly important, but does anyone know why Frances Scott is doing the Crossroads Ford commercials and not the local news anymore? Or maybe she's doing the news too and I just haven't seen her lately. She is a vast improvement over Tom Smith, that is for sure!
Like many other NewsChannel 11 personalities, her contract "was not renewed" ans no other information was ever given.
She left to spend more time with her family, who now live out of the state. She comes back to do the commercials and returns home.
She left tv and moved to Virginia to spend more time with her family, as mentioned. Crossroads asked her to come down here a few times a month and make their commercials because evidently she was considered a trustworty person while on the news. She said in an interview that the money she makes is pretty darn good, from these commercials, and good enough for her to stay at home with her kids full time.
Thanks for the info, I'm happy for her! Anytime you can get something that pays well and lets you spend time with your family, that is awesome!
Wonder who I'd have to talk to in order to get a gig like that? I have a trusting face......most people like me.....I like to talk....... Hmmm
actually, he was able to buy his own dealership with the money he made being the sales manager for the highest volume ford dealer within 3000 miles.... tom's a good guy. people crack on him and all about those commercials, and i can see where some people might have found them annoying, but he really is a good guy at heart. i bought two chevrolet's from him. used, yes, but i went to a ford dealership to buy chevrolets so i could buy them from him.
Yeah, I know that he did more for Crossroads than just those commercials. That's why I had the "j/k" (just kidding) at the end of my post.
I heard that she has gotten a divorce of convenience and is now getting remarried a Mr. John Key who is hoped to add to her career. She will now be known as Francis Scott Key which is supposed to have a much greater area of recognition.  (For those who may have been absent that day, the person who wrote the Star Spangled Banner was also named Francis Scott Key)
I saw Madison Lane doing a commercial the other day for another car dealer. I can't remember which one it was. I read in the N & O that Tom Smith had started his own production company named Hey Folks Production. The article said he made just as much from the production of commercials as he did from selling cars.
