According to their website, you have to pay $57.00 a year for first-class postage to have it delivered. I'm not even really sure where you can pick one up. Of course, I'd say in all likelihood, they'll have to go to bulk mail like the Herald will do and pass the costs on to their advertisers. McClatchey isn't going to do anything more with the Herald than use it as a vehicle to deliver enough inserts to choke a horse...and that's where they'll make their money.
You can come through my nieghborhood and take your pick from any back issues that are rotting in people's driveways. You'd think the idiot delivery person would realize the resident is no reading their crappy paper after seeing three or four issues on the ground. Yet they continue to throw another one out there. It is just as flawed of a system as phone books. Advertisers pay rates based on the distribution numbers of the phone books. Phone book companies distribute as many as possible whether you want it or not. Delivery people get paid by the book.
I think that the owner of the property shoul pick up the papers and phone books. If they don't want them throw them out. My neighborhood is the same way. I don't read the paper or use the phone books very much but you don't see them still on the ground.
I don't get that either. Why do people let stuff like that just sit in their yard for days? Is it supposed to send a message to the deliverer? Certainly, they don't care because they're getting paid to throw the books or papers out.
You would think people would pick the papers and books up off their driveway, too. As for phonebooks, I picked up 3 just the other week. I'm pretty sure they were delivered almost two months ago. I just got sick of looking at them. Keep the Sprint book, and toss the other ones.
I think it sends a message to other homeowners in the neighborhood. "Hi. I'm a lazy slob, and I only moved here to bring down your property values."
I should probably go pick up the paper that I drive over and CRUSH into little pieces every day then huh? Just my little way of saying F you Apex
Or recycle them, which is more responsible. Better yet, to be able to opt out of them altogether would be even more responsible (kinda like opting out of junk mail or registering for the do not call list).
My neighbor does the same thing. Their mailbox is beside ours and they NEVER pick up stuff thats left under THEIR mailbox or the things the people stick in the flag area etc.....NEVER!!!! We always have to pick them up (like 1-2 wks later). Makes DH so mad  I mean they walk to their box, WHY can't they pick up their mail trash too???
