What is the local realtor charging as a commission lately? Trying to guage what we're going to do. We've sold 2 homes in the past FSBO but may not be able to do it this time given my husband's increased work load and such. Just trying to get an idea as I know homes aren't selling for much as they used to. Thanks in advance. Crazy time to sell but we've done crazier things--LOL. Also, isn't there a discount if they sell your home and you buy another home through them? Been awhile since we've bought and sold and I know the markets have changed. So figure me if these are stupid questions. Just want to make sure I don't miss anything. Stephanie--mom to 7
My DH's cousin is a realtor and his commission is set at 3.4% His website is http://www.wrayenterprises.com/wrayrealty.html We haven't sold a house, so we haven't used him, but I do know his commission is cheaper than anywhere else. If you decide to use him, you can give him my name.
You mean his average rate is 3.4%? 8) You can't have set prices due to anti-trust laws. That's a good rate right now..
Hrmm...looks like his is fixed. I could of swore when I got my broker license that was a big issue. Of course that's been years and years ago so it may have changed.
You (office) can set your own commission and negotiate it or not depending on office policy, you cannot under any circumstances collude with other agents/offices to "fix" commission prices between offices. That is the anti-trust issue.
The way he explained it to me was that when it's all said and done, he gives the other agent the standard 2.4 or 2.6, whatever it is, and he keeps the rest.
