    Where do you really stand.
    I am:
    Pro Choice
    Pro Death
    Pro Gun
    Pro Fence (and landmines)

I am Christian and I go to church but I don't need my goverment, a school, or any one else to tell how to worship God.

I don't care if Bill & Steve or Lisa and Linda want to get married... I know that the bible says it is wrong, but the bible also says I should not judge people. And really is it hurting anyone if they want to get married.

I think welfare needs more limits and less money.

Condoms and birth control should be on stand by at every high school & middle school for that matter.

I support the war and our troops.

I think the UN should be relocated off of American soil.

I have ten years active duty Navy.

    I am:
    Pro Choice
    Anti Death
    Pro Gun
Anti-Fence (and landmines) - Pro amnesty

I am not Christian and I go to church but I don't need my government, a school, or any one else to tell how to worship God.

    I support our troops.

I don't support the war, however I also don't belive in "Cut and Run".

I think the UN should be restructured and become more meaningful.

I have not served in the military.

I do serve my country in my civilian position which does have an anti terrorism facet to the job.

I do not support reason for the war in Iraq, but we have to fix what we have broken

I support our troops and the job they should have been allowed to finish in Afghanistan.

I have not served in the military, but have worked closely with DOD and NCIS investigators on technical issues.

Hey, RJ, good questions. Let's see:

    I am:
    Pro-life
    Anti-death
Gun control - I don't want to take away anybody's hunting weapons, or handguns for protection, but I think a reasonable waiting period should be allowed to check records, not just sell guns to anybody who shows up with the money.
The fence - I think is a colossal waste of resources. As long as the jobs are here, they will keep coming. They'll find a way, over, under, around, or through. As long as businesses can hire illegals for less, pocket bigger profits and use part of those profits to line the pockets of the politicians, we will have a problem with illegal immigrants. Certainly we need to protect our borders, and our ports. I think the 9/11 Commission made some recommendations in that regard that should at least be considered. (No land mines, though.)

I am Christian, I go to church, and I don't need the government or anybody else telling me when and how to worship. My faith informs my politics, in that I believe I am called to love the Lord; to love my neighbor; to care for the poor and the powerless; and to be a good steward of God's creation.

I believe civil marriage is a civil right. Churches do not have to bless the marriages of everybody that asks, and that applies to heterosexuals as well as homosexuals. Is homosexuality a greater sin than adultery? Most theologians would say no. And did not Jesus say that a man who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery? Yet churches find a way to bless those marriages. If some churches find a way to bless homosexual marriages, the state should not prohibit that. And civil marriage (outside any church) should be equally available to same sex couples as well as anyone else.

Real sex education should be taught, beginning in middle school. Abstinence is obviously the best way to prevent unwanted pregnancy and STDs, as well as emotional turmoil for kids, but in too many cases it really is just a pipe dream. "Abstinence only" is not real sex education. I would make an "opt-out" provision for that, so parents could sign a note saying they prefer to teach their children at home, but for any child who did not bring such a note, sex ed. would be mandatory. Condoms should be available.

I support the troops. I believe the war in Iraq is a colossal mistake from day one, and we should be looking for an exit strategy that leaves Iraq as stable as possible and still gets us out within a reasonable time. 12-18 months seems about right to me; sooner would be better, but may not be possible.

I have 3 years active duty and 11 more years of "tending the home-fires" while my husband completed his 20+.

I may have missed some of your questions, but I think this covers most of them. Thanks for asking!

Can someone get Oy or Stingy into this thread so I can be told which of us is liberal and which is not since there seems to be no clear agreement on these positions. :? :?

We are all liberals since we have disagreed with one of them in the past.

Wayne, you know everyone who disagrees with either of them in any way is liberal, and part of the borg. But at least they don't lie and claim to be democrats while they claim to know what we are thinking.

But if we are all Non-thinking Borg as is claimed why are there so many differences in the positions? I cannot understand this difference without the sage guidance of the all knowing twosome ...

    I am:
    Pro Choice
    Pro Death
    Pro Gun
Anti Fence, Pro prosecution of all illegal aliens.

I am not a "Christian". I do not go to church AND I don't need my government, a school, or any one else to tell me how to worship.

    I support the ACLU.

I don't care if Bill & Steve or Lisa and Linda want to get married... and it is not hurting anyone if they want to get married.

I think welfare needs more limits and less money. And a time frame for which someone on it needs to get off of it so generations are not taught they are entitled to something.

I am against government paid reparations for slavery.

Condoms and birth control should be on stand by at every high school & middle school for that matter. I agree with the "opt out" provision, although my gut tells me that 99% of those parents who will are the "heads in the sand" parents who will not teach kids what they need to know.

I do not support reason for the war in Iraq, but we have to fix what we have broken and give them 18 months to get their fecal material in sequence.

I support our troops and the job they should have been allowed to finish in Afghanistan.

I have most of my adult life in the military, mostly on active duty, some reserve and National Guard status.

I believe in term limits to prevent career politicians and cozy lobbying.

I think the UN needs to be out of the US, and that we need to be out of the UN.

I believe that peace in the middle east is impossible, because those who keep stirring the pot refuse to quit agitating, bombing, etc. They could have Peace if they'd allow Israel to exist safely. Higher standard of living in Israel than other ME countries. How'd they do that in less than 60 years? Democratically elected government, as opposed to Arab royal dynasties who protect their own personal interests.

I believe that Clinton lied and dishonored the Presidency. His lack of personal morals is his greatest challenge.

I believe that W is the absolute WORST POTUS in our nation's history, and can only hope that he is the bottom of the bell curve statistically. I believe that Cheney is the Eminence Grise behind W and actually tells W what to do. Rumsfield should be given a rifle and sent out to Fallujah or Anbar to see what it's like first hand.

I am pee'd off with Bush's dearth of intellect, his cavalier use of our military, his petulant style, his family's perception of self entitlement, or the fact that he lied to get the US into Iraq, had no clue then, less now.

I despise hypocrites, whether religious leaders, politicians, or anywhere in a leadership role.

I do not think that Oswald acted alone.

    Pro-Life
    Anti-Death Penalty (obviously, I've already stated I'm Pro-Life)
Pro-Gun (seems odd with the aforementioned statements)
Pro-Fencing (I think the foil is useless compared to the scimatar, but fencing is fun and healthy just the same)
    Anti-landmines (see above)

Didn't the bi-partisan welfare reform bill that was passed during the Clinton administration contain some provisions like that? And doesn't the current "Welfare to work" program in NC include time limits? (Just asking, I don't know the answers, but I'm sure someone here will look it up & find out  )

    i am pro choice
    lean towards anti death penalty
limited guns (What KDsGrandma said Gun control - I don't want to take away anybody's hunting weapons, or handguns for protection, but I think a reasonable waiting period should be allowed to check records, not just sell guns to anybody who shows up with the money.)

i believe in public education but would like to see true reform -- i think no child left behind is admirable but an albatross around educators necks
i believe all people should receive decent and affordable health care -- including mental health care

i am a christian who believes God and science can and do coexist -- i believe in miracles - i believe in empirical science-- i believe in the theory of evolution --i believe women have a place in the pulpit -- i believe that the commandments to love my God and then to love my neighbor are the core of my christian faith and that Jesus asked us to clothe the naked, feed the hungry, take care of the poor and the sick --church sponsored, privately sponsored or goverment sponsored programs they all have a place to serve those in need

i believe civil marriage is a civil right

i advocate honest sex education - wish we would stop exploiting sex for commercialism (?) - and not be so prudish when it comes to open and frank discussions about it

i support and admire the troops -- the commitment they have to serve -- i do not support this war -- i do think we need a plan and a time frame in which to pull our troops out -- i have never served in the military

most of all i believe we share more similarities than differences in this world as humans and that compromise is the key to a better tomorrow and when we stop keeping score and start being empathetic to those around us we will move forward

Maybe he was lost or misdirected and ended up here in the (What was the term he used?..Trailer park?)

may be he reads but doesn't want to lower his standards by posting with us.

Maybe he read what we have posted, sees the similarities and differences between people with an open exchange of opinion, but without the eye gouging, drop-kicking that others seem to favor abd thus chooses not to engage in civil discourse.

I have enjoyed reading the posts. And I agree..we are more similar than dissimilar.

I appreciate the enlightenment that is offered here.

    Pro Gun (with certain restrictions)
    Pro Fence

I am Christian and I go to church but I don't need my goverment, a school, or any one else to tell how to worship God.

I do care if Bill & Steve or Lisa and Linda want to get married... I do however think they should be able to protect thier rights and assets thru civil unions

I think welfare needs more limits and less money.

Condoms and birth control should be on stand by at every high school

I support the war (because we're there and we might as well finish the job) and our troops.

I have no personal military service, but my Dad was EOD for 20 years and my husband is a former Marine
