I had to put our beloved dog down after 15 years in November. Finally going through some things. Anyhow, I have a full bottle of Cholodin. It's not a prescription so I'm assuming I could give this away. I hate to throw something out someone else can use. It's a dietary supplement htat is supposed to help w/ joints. If anyone wants it, please email me privately. If I'm not allowed to give this away, please delete thread. But being that it's a dietary supplement, I'm assuming I'm not doing anything wrong. Thanks. Or, tell me what I can do w/ it. I'd give it back to the vet but doubt they'd take it as the seal was broken. He did use 1 pill out of it. But that was it. Anyhow, let me know if any places would take it. stephanie--mom to 7
The shelters will take it and use it for any dogs that need it. They take all kinds of meds (even prescription I believe, since the vet will 're prescribe" it.) Sorry about your 'baby'.
It depends on the vet, but call and ask if it can be returned. When our dog died the day after the cancer was diagnosed, our vet (Cleveland Animal Hospital on Shiloh) gave us a credit for the amount of the medication even though it could not be resold since the seals were broken. She didn't have to do this, but she kindly did since our dog had only had one dose before dying. (The intestinal cancer was far gone at the diagnosis...she'd never lost weight or her appetite so we didn't know anything was wrong until it was the end.)
