So we finally made the decision to go "foam." LOL!! My husband and I purchased a foam mattress, and part of the agreement that I made with him was that we could not dispose of our queen pillow top mattress until I was sure we were both happy with the foam. Many friends had told us they liked theirs, but a common complaint was that the foam heald too much heat. I wanted to make sure we weren't going to "roast." LOL! Anyway, test period is over. Now I am left with a queen pillow top mattress crammed into the far wall of our bedroom. We don't know what to do with it, either. The mattress is in very good condition, overall. It has a lot of stains, however, from our kids and their "snacks." Coke and kool aide has been stained on it more than once, but it's fine other than that!! If there a company or organization that might want the mattress? Could they refurbish it?? I'd appreciate any ideas! Thanks!
We sold one on Craiglist a few months ago it was queen size as well. about 10 years old. no stain though it was gone in about 30 mins. Not sure if any place you can donate it to.
When we replaced ours we used the old one for a redneck trampoline. The boys had a blast then it was off to the dump. It was in really sad shape.
What is Monroe Road? I'm not from here. Loved the redneck trampoline idea, though! LOL! I thought cool parents must have died off by the wayside a long time ago...nice to see my "upbringing" was duplicated in someone elses home!! Thanks for the laugh!
I would post it here and on craigslist as free... There are plenty of people out there that could really use it, you can always buy a cover for it if it is a good mattress.
The Vietnam Vet Thrift Shop off of Capital Blvd will pick it up as a donation if they still exist. If they are not in business anymore there may be another business that may pick it up.
You can always donate it to USCRI. US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. They pick stuff up, too.
