Anyone have any good ideas on what to do the next few days with the kids? It's gonna be too hot to go outside, so what else is there? I keep thinking there must be something I don't know about...other than pool, movies, mall, what else is there? Maybe bowling..........I don't know, nothing sounds good.
The bowling lanes in Clayton have a card you can get for free bowling for the kids. You still have to pay for shoes. How about some of the indoor play places in Raleigh or Cary like Monkey Joes or Pump It Up? Marbles or Natural Sciences Museum are other options.
My son brought a free pass home from school for free skating this summer. Yesterday, I was really just going to the pet shop so my son could look and dream about a new pet ... but ended up buying a bearded dragon. Pet shops are always a fun (and usually free) place to take the kids. I know it's too hot ... but at some point this summer I'd like to try that geocaching someone mentioned on another thread. ... but today we are heading for the beach!!!
Melynda - I'd like to try the geocaching too, my mom is addicted to it! (she's in NY though). If we get a day that's not too hot, we should go...I think you just have to go to the website www.geocaching.com to find locations near you. And it sounds like something you can do with kids. As for today, I think we're going bowling and to Chick-fil-a with all the other moms around. Was going to do the movies, but they went with the sitter Tuesday and saw one of the movies, and the other one they've seen 100 times (we have it) so they didn't want to. Anyone know if Rainbow Lanes takes credit cards?
You're more than welcome to come over & swim tomorrow. It is supposed to be HOT. Pool is cool and refreshing after all this rain but will warm up quickly tomorrow. Just bring the kids over to play. Okay, going to post an impromptu gathering tomorrow since it is goign to be hot as anything out. Plenty of space for kids to run around here, parents to chit chat, & just relax. No busy traffic, quiet...w/ the exception of the kids--LOL. Seriously, here goes: Friday, June 19th Cool off w/ some pool time & meet some new friends via 4042. Bring a towel, good attitude and something to share (bag of chips/ grapes/ watermelon/ potato salad/ etc.) I'll provide hotdogs/ buns/ etc. Come any time but preferably around 11 am or so. It is an above ground pool. It is in direct sun so I would definitely use sunscreen. Do hope to meet some of you there. Bring any and all kids. I'm sure we all have some of the same age! I don't mind kids going in and out of my house at all. Just have this rule of NO food or drinks upstairs. Hope you alld on't mind that one. So, let's get together on a very hot June day (supposed to be 102 heat index), share some stories, and meet some new friends. Hey, I met a fellow 4042 on here last year and her son & my son are now really good friends. So, you just never know. I live in Southills subdivision, just off Cornwallis so very easy to find.
