I just went out to get my mail, and holy crap! It's smoky and it smells like something's on fire! Anyone know what it is? I'm in the Cleveland area...
Does it smell like someone burning their trash? Or an actual house? Please let me know if you have any more updates. I live in the Cleveland area as well and am now having an anxiety attack wondering if my neighborhood is on fire.
Sorry, I didn't mean to scare anyone! I don't know, just really smoky smell. I came on here thinking for sure someone would have posted something. I thought maybe someone could tell me if they had driven by somewhere and seen something...I don't live in the kind of neighborhood that people burn stuff (boy would the hoa love that!). The only thing I could think of is maybe it's the Walmart site? Are they still burning stuff over there? That's about 4 miles from me, but if it's big enough of a fire, maybe I'd smell it and see the smoke?
And days like today, when it gets cold and overcast it has a tendancy to keep the smell and smoke closer to the ground and it gets dispersed over a wider area, than on cold clear, sunny days. Have you ever noticed during the winter in homes that have fireplaces and burn wood that the on cold, wet, rainy days the smoke tends to hang closer to the ground. Kinda like the weather is opressing it just like it opresses us on those days. Craig
One time when I was talking to hubby today I heard them talking on his pager about an abandoned mobile home on fire. Sorry, I don't know what area it was in.
I smell smoke all the time. My neighbor burns wood to heat his house, water, and shop. I am used to it though. Some days it is worse than others, sometimes I can't even tell.
