in a shelter over an hour away?? Our main coon is still missing. Sigh. I have been scouring all the shelters and one in Robeson County has a main coon. But they all sort of look alike. They said he didn't have a chip, I asked them to see if they could ask someone to scan again. (since mine did) But I know chips can be missed. I hate to drive 2 hours round trip, but the thought that it MIGHT be him is killing me. Thoughts??
Stranger things have happened, but I'd say the chances are pretty slim. If it's going to bother you though, I'd drive over there, just to eliminate the possiblity.
I'd drive it too, just to eliminate the possibility. I wouldn't be able to stand the thought of "what if....".
If you think he looks a little like yours, and you don't go, how will you feel later? I'd go....speaking from the view of someone who lost a cat who was chipped and hasn't seen him since May. What's 2 hours of your life in the grand scheme of things? I'd give a lot more than that to have my Baxter buddy back safely again. (He's in the picture in my avatar as a kitten, sleeping on the black dog "rug.") On a side note, I adopted a cat from the Robeson County shelter 10 years ago. A lot could have changed since then, but let's just say it wasn't exactly state of the art. I wouldn't be so sure they have the right tools or know how to use them. I'm not trying to be critical because those girls loved the animals they were caring for. They just didn't have the proper resources.
Does anybody work out that way that wants to run in and adopt him for me? We can take whether he is ours or not-- we have plumbing trouble and have people here both tomorrow and Tuesday. uggg
Yea!! I am doubting more and more it is him, the markings are too dark. But I cant take the chance, I found someone to go get him for me!!! If it is not him I can help find him a good home, or maybe he will like it here?? I wont be able to live with myself if I don't find out if it is him.
