Debating on which video system to get and so far just have decided against the Wii-what is the memory difference in the PS3 systems? Can you not add memory to them? Does anybody know how long it will be before the PS2 will be phased out? And one of the PS3 systems doesn't play PS2 games. How are you supposed to be able to figure all this out before Christmas????

There is simply no competition between the two. PS3 hands down is the best. You can even upgrade the HD's to as big as you want. Plus it plays BlueRay discs. The graphics are also HD.
The only reason I decided against the Wii is that my DS is sort of clumsy and if he accidentally threw that control thingy into the big screen, DH would not be happy. He also wanted something different, since we already have a GameCube and just about every game ever made for it. The graphics on the PS3 are amazing but I just don't have the change to spend $500 BEFORE you even buy a game.
your concern re: the wii is apparently valid. seems like i read somewhere in the last couple of weeks that due to the controllers being thrown/slipping from hands, etc, they're making a little padded sleeve kind of thing for them now so they won't break stuff or crack you across your noggin....
